Last November, Dr. Vergara conducted a technical visit to the Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) at the University of Oklahoma.
The primary focus of the visit was to strengthen technical knowledge and remain informed on deployment strategies of advanced integration of multistatic radar sensing into P3 ground-based observation networks. The visit highlighted the low-cost multistatic passive radar technology for S-band weather observations, a unique capability developed and tested exclusively at ARRC. Additionally, Dr. Vergara had the opportunity to participate in a series of hands-on training sessions conducted with ARRC scientists covering radar hardware architecture, signal processing workflows, and software systems.
The visit also provided an opportunity for Dr. Vergara to present ongoing research activities to scientists at the National Weather Service and University of Oklahoma, helping to strengthen cross-institutional dialogue and opening pathways for future collaboration on radar-based precipitation sensing and operational applications.
